📙 Montreal-based urban design collective Daily Tous Les Jours is releasing its first book this spring, titled Strangers Need Strange Moments Together. Designers Melissa Mongiat and Mouna Andraos became world-famous for their playful interactive interventions that break the ice between city dwellers — like their brilliant series of musical swings, now installed in cities around the world. And now, there’s a book. It’s set to be released later this spring and is already available for pre-order.
⚡️ Urban rooftops are mostly used — if at all — for solar energy. But Belgian company Renewind sees untapped potential for wind power. They’ve developed a compact wind turbine designed specifically for rooftops. The first prototype, costing €6,000, was installed on a housing tower in Laeken, with plans for ten more. If successful, this technology could provide cities with a stable, year-round renewable energy source.
🗑 A cute mini version of a New York City dumpster — now that’s a statement piece for any interior. Who wouldn’t want one for their birthday? Creative director Marvin Schwaibold plans to create 3D-printed miniatures of iconic New York street objects. Alongside the dumpster, there’s also a classic trash can and a pedestrian safety divider — naturally covered in a good layer of stickers and graffiti. Leave your email to be notified if and when the City Objects go into production.
🚐 A campervan for just $1 per night, with the catch that you need to drive it from Las Vegas to San Francisco in three days. Sounds tempting? Imoova connects travellers with rental companies needing to relocate vehicles, offering one-way rentals at incredibly low prices. This turns a logistical necessity into an affordable travel opportunity, benefiting both adventurers and rental firms. An unbeatable deal for those who love the open road.
