First things first
👁️ Art isn’t just confined to galleries — it’s popping up on street corners everywhere. Our latest article for culture and nightlife magazine Uitkrant explores Amsterdam’s vibrant sticker culture with a walking route to discover it. These tiny artworks transform everyday objects into impromptu galleries, showcasing political, poetic, musical, and satirical messages. Dive into the hidden urban museum and see the city in a new light.
🐝 Robo-bees could soon pollinate indoor farms in cities. Designed to be lighter than a paperclip, these tiny drone insects can hover for 16 minutes straight. According to engineer Kevin Chen of MIT, they could one day pollinate crops in indoor farms and vertical agriculture facilities. This would help replace dwindling bee populations and secure future food production in the heart of our cities.
🚇 Madrid is taking last-mile logistics underground. The Última Milla project swaps delivery vans for metro trains, moving thousands of parcels off congested streets. An evening train on MetroSur Line 12 ferries packages to collection points, while a morning service brings deliveries into the low-emission zone for bike or foot distribution. As urban populations rise and e-commerce floods city streets, Madrid’s underground experiment could be a model for other cities battling gridlock and pollution.
